On Thursday, April 15, the first International Electric Mobility Forum was held, called “Decarbonizing Transportation”. It was organized by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE).
The main presentation was led by Christopher Zegras and the event included the speech of Minister Omar Paganini (MIEM) and Minister Adrián Peña (Ministry of the Environment).
Zegras is Professor of Transportation and Urban Planning in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), where he teaches integrated transportation and land use planning, transportation financing, and field workshops. He has been co-professor of urban planning and design studies in Beijing, Boston, Cartagena (Colombia), Guadalajara (Mexico), Mexico City and Santiago de Chile. He is the Principal Investigator of the Future Urban Mobility research group, sponsored by the MIT Singapore Research and Technology Alliance, and is the MIT Transportation Systems Leader under the MIT Portugal program.
