What is the technology test for companies?

With this initiative, MOVÉS Project provides companies with the opportunity to test electric vehicles for urban freight transport and last mile logistics during their normal operations, to verify their benefits.

Thanks to the current incentive schemes operating in the country, incorporating electric vehicles is profitable for many types of companies and operations, compared to operating conventional combustion vehicles. This initiative contributes to a reduction in other entry barriers beyond costs, by allowing the vehicle to be tested without having to purchase it, thus reducing uncertainty and providing knowledge about the operation of electric units.

How is it implemented?

This initiative is possible through agreements with vehicle rental companies, which acquired electric units with an incentive provided by MOVÉS.

These companies make the vehicles available for a month to organizations whose operation involves urban transport or logistics. MOVÉS subsidizes the vehicles’ rental costs, and the rental companies are only able to charge companies administration and charger installation costs, which cannot exceed one hundred dollars.

What models are available?

Currently, the electric vehicles available for testing are utility vehicles, which recently increased to six units that can be tested for a month. For more than a year, pedal-assisted bicycles and electric tricycles were available to test thanks to agreements made with Ecomoving, Wheele and Mobility. The rapid diffusion of this technology allowed this program to be successfully accomplished; focusing now on the utility program, extending the tool and increasing the number of vehicles, with the aim of reaching 100 companies that test these vehicles in their normal operating conditions.

It is important to clarify that, in order to be eligible, beneficiary organizations must have their own space where it may be feasible to install the vehicle charger and a contracted power of at least 7 kW. The car rental companies are responsible for the installation of the charger on site.
